Everybody knows Snoopy, and during the Apollo era the famous beagle was the project’s mascot. This statue of him hangs out in front of a wall of moon-landing front pages at Kennedy Space Center.
see it on Flickr »As part of CNN’s Latino in America franchise, CNN.com wanted to profile several Garcias from around the United States.
At the time, Flash was the accepted format for video features. We also fought to leave off pre- and post-roll advertising, thinking that it would be a ratty experience. Design decisions were driven by the CNN Digital and LIA style guides, as well as by the limited width of CNN.com’s content area.

I met Clark in Florida in the summer of 2011. He was one of the men who designed the mission patch for Apollo 11. He’d worked all his life in aviation, and had the insignia on his hat to prove it.
